Brighton activated 40m release clause for Rutter... 00:01 - Aug 15 with 2554 viewsITFCBlues

Good player, but is he 40m good?

When you see the money Brighton are spending it really does go to show the job we done this summer keeping KM

That's what Leeds paid for him when in the PL, and he didn't score. Good luck Brighton.

Good money that for lufc, though it does mean they could probably afford to put an acceptable bid together for a top end championship number 10 to replace him and still walk away with a decent sum after

My thought exactly - haven’t Brighton also just bought an attacking midfielder - Gruda? Not much space for our Jeremy. It’s time to come home

He’s not worth 2 Omari’s that’s for sure. Hutch turned up for the big games with big moments, can’t say the same for Rutter.

But with Summerville and Gray already gone, it looks like Leeds are severely weakened. Draw at home to newly promoted Pompey, and thrashed at home last night by Boro reserves. The fans will be gunning for Farke…

Wasn’t impressed from what I saw of him. £40m is a joke.

The only Muff in Town.

With Brighton having also signed two first choice wingers looks to me that we could see Sarmiento back at Portman Road in the near future.

Being surrounded by Leeds fans at work, they are very worried about this - much more so than Summerville going (and are angry abour Gray for other reasons). He was by far their most important player last season - everything ran through him. And importantly, they thought they were likley to keep but expected Summerville to go due to the profit they would make on him.

Also... whilst the details of his clause are not known... buying a player for 35m and sticking a 40m clause in, at best, seems naive - although I appreciate he may well not have signed in the first place if that clause wasn't there.

Possibly makes SS more expensive for us, again! Plenty of Leeds fans seeing him as the natural replacement for GR

Szmodics would be an upgrade on Rutter. Far more consistent.
