It doesn’t get much tougher than that, reassuringly. That’s not really the bar we need to set ourselves unless we expect to challenge for the title which clearly we don’t. Pool will do that to plenty of sides.
Nonetheless a huge step up in quality isn’t it, which won’t surprise anyone. Aspects of the performance were really heartening though especially 1st half. Greaves looks a good addition, Omari we know will cause problems at this level, Delap I thought put a proper shift in. There’s a fair few whose ceiling is clearly not Liverpool levels, but then they were never going to be.

Can’t help thinking we contributed to our own downfall. Ok Liverpool played some sublime stuff second half but they were pinging passes into space where we were outnumbered 4 on 3 or 3 on 2. I know we have an identity to attack but we had too many players up the pitch. Don’t know why Taylor came on for Luongo and not Phillips there were huge gaps in centre midfield.
