No one would have questioned it, but you can see the divide after the break.
I’m sure we can go granular and make a huge list of positives and negatives. Arguably Liverpool eased off and didn’t hammer us. I think the fact we started with so many league one players was the big worry, and telling difference.
Greaves looks absolutely immense doesn’t he? Axel on one game looked better at this level than at the Champ. I thought Delap and Omari showed they’ll be excellent players for a season at this level too. The new players will clearly drag up the levels from that as well.
The fans didn’t let us down either - carry on this way and the home form will be crucial. |  |

Really? I thought he looked far more at home facing up Prem players in the first half, the movement, the patterns etc seemed to suit him.
Possibly because we looked like a McKenna side and they looked like they were reverting to Kloppisms. Tough for Leif today but he will learn a lot. It felt like they were just lumping it to Salah at times but it told as they improved and we got weaker. | |

Only one real mistake (which unfortunately got punished) - it was Axel that dropped deeper than the rest of the line and played Salah onside for their second goal. Otherwise I thought he looked very comfortable, definitely looks a player that belongs at this level.
Gotta say I was quite impressed with Harness when he came on. |  |

I agree, if we had have gone in ahead at half time, it would have been well deserved and wouldn't have flattered us 1 bit..
Difference between us and Liverpool was the fact they were able to take their chances when they came, where as we didn't..

Greaves played well, but he is a central stopper. I don't think he provides the positional cover for Leif that Burgess does and we looked exposed there. | | | |
