As usual nodge fans talking out of their arses on 07:14 - Aug 24 by Churchman | Poor things are very early in the ‘change curve’. Somewhere between shock and denial, I reckon. Just three years ago they were starting out in the Premier League again while despite bomb squads and signings we were about to wallow around in League One again. And now? No more tv money, gloomy prospects and their sherry loving owners nearly dispatched by an empty beer can. Decline. Festering, unrelenting decline after their last season in the PL where their only notable achievement was to raise their rear ends in the air for nine months. They didn’t even try. It’s one of the reasons for such bitterness. In the meantime them down the road with a much nicer kit and a trophy cabinet have for the moment sailed on by. The ‘natural order of things’ at the bottom of the dustbin along with a dead canary wrapped in an old EDP. It’s enough to make anyone go into shock. Poor budgies. Still if it’s any consolation, the 15 years thing does irritate me. I’d have gladly swapped our situation with theirs for a win against them ….would I hell as like!!! |
This^^^^^^^^ Thank you for making my Saturday morning Churchman. I salute you Sir.

As has been said though it doesn't take too much in the way of imagination to swap things over, I'm sure there would be the equivalent of posts on there if the roles were reversed. I do have a little concern though that while on the face of it they appear to be in dissaray, there might actually be a bit of long term strategy starting to get applied there. They're in for potentially a rough ride this season I think but could well be putting something together that gets competitive in a year or two. Hopefully I'm wrong and it all goes Pete Tong.

It's the assumption that we are falling foul of FFP and doing a Forest that is quite amusing. Mind you, they aren't the only set of fans who are jumping to conclusions on that. I do think there's also a bit of envy given that on their last two promotions, their board made feck all attempt to compete.

15 years, pfft! One lost soul on the OinkUn was dutifully pointing out to his chums that we have a 50 year unbeaten record against Real Madrid to console ourselves with. He was wrong though, it's actually 51 years.

Oh absolutely, they look at players we've signed, money we've spent and jump to sweeping conclusions, probably in the same way as I (we) do about them tbh. Much player judgement arises from a perrusal of wikipedia these days, while of course we all know that we spent tens of millions just to get out of League One so are obviously over the barrel financially.
