Some things are more important than winning 21:23 - Aug 24 with 2250 views | GlasgowBlue | Just back from the game so not sure if this has been mentioned, but absolute class from McKenna getting Edmundson on the pitch. Fridge has been an integral member if the squad who took us in this journey. Never the same player after that ankle injury, nevertheless KM trusted him in some vital games. Hull last season being a high point where he kept Delap in his pocket. It’s obvious that he will be released when O’Shea signs so credit to McKaenna for giving him time against his boyhood club in a premier League game.

KM actually mentioned it after the match (that bringing him on was partly as a thank you and as it was the club he supported as a boy). Extraordinary man management as Glassers says. Your first thought might be "sentiment should have no place" but actually it sends a great message to the rest of the squad. The longer players get to know McKenna, seeing how he operates and what he believes, the more they'll run through walls for him. He's looking at the bigger picture (and, also, is just a nice man!)
