The other thing is that the owner/chairman has basically spent the last couple of months doubling down on the appointment so by the time he feels he can sack him, it will be way too late.

In fairness Rooney did really well in keeping Derby competitive in the Championship. But was that down to his second in command as with Lambert/Shakespeare and others?
Every manager needs a strong team behind him, and once again I'll call out Pert as being a huge contributor to our current success and the rest of the first team coaches.
Rooney does have his good points. Comparing his man management to He who must not be named who managed us before Paul Cook: One was admittedly a good player who reportedly told League One players that they would never be as good he was. The other was a superb player who was like a father to his men who would take the time to talk to players explaining why they had been left out of the squad. On he local news he openly appologised to a talented youngster called Lewis Sibley who was not getting game time explaining that he felt he needed to play the more experienced players if Derby were to get get out of the mess they were in and they nearly did. He's may not be a good manager but I have always liked Wayne.
