Minimised brightons danger whilst they have had their usual majority of the ball play.

Morsy defo not a good day. On and off the ball he's had a bit of a mare.
Think this is the first time you see how morsy and Phillips as a pair whilst could work well it can also be a problem... when our front three press. Neither morsy nor phillips are coming forward so brighton have an easy out in the middle.
Szmodics and hutchinson not really getting the chances to be a threat. Delap isn't really being presented with opportunities to hold the ball up or spin.
Burns.. inside the first minute we got what I said earlier a long diag.. we've not seen it to him since. Why not? He's open He's asking for it.

Awful to watch from our perspective, just can’t seem to hold onto the ball long enough to do anything. Defensively we look solid enough but we need to do more on the ball second half to get a point from this I think. |  |

They’re battering us. We’re fortune to still be level if we’re being honest.
Brighton are a good side and they will be in the top half so it’s not an easy place to go but I think we need to try and hold on to the ball a bit more. Easier said than done but it isn’t sticking with Delap and it’s coming back at us far too quickly. |  | | |

Despite Brighton creating a couple of decent chances, we've looked pretty good at the back so far. Davis, Tuanzebe and Greaves all especially assured. Muric even more so.
The problem seems to be our press isn't that organised, the front 4 don't seem too cohesive. And when we get the ball, we're far too rushed. Hopefully, we can start to get a bit of possession and create some openings.
Brighton do look good though, i'm impressed with them (annoyingly). |  | | |

Played almost a 6-4 formation in that first half, difficult for the forwards to get the balls they wanted. But this is the Prem, it's a learning curve and sometimes we will need to play a more defensive formation |  | | |

Rather play like today and earn a point than stick to our usual style and get ripped apart like what happened v Leeds both home and away last season.
McK by now probably knows our squad cannot match a large number of Prem teams quality-wise man for man so it is imperative to mix up the styles. Not possible to play every match in the trademark McK style we are so accustomed to in L1 and the Champ.
