Will Muric ever learn? 10:28 - Oct 7 with 4276 views | cressi | When to get rid and not play stupid dangerous balls . It has been going on since the friendlies every game almost. I do wonder if he can wise up quickly enough or we will be in trouble. Yes a great shot stopper but his a major concern liability wise a co*k up most games guaranteed.

Will Muric ever learn? on 10:42 - Oct 7 by TRUE_BLUE123 | That pass was utterly insane. I actually think it changed the game as well. West Ham got back on top after that moment. I've watched a lot of Muric over the last few years and even at youth level. I cant believe what I'm seeing with his feet. He has legitimately been the best keeper I've seen at any level with his feet maybe aside from Ederson. That's also why we shouldn't give up on him yet. His shot stopping has been good in the most part. Made a super save on Saturday from a header low to his right. If he can sort is his kicking out he will be a more than capable keeper for us. |
He actually played some fantastic passes on Saturday (particularly out to the full backs), that gave us the opportunity to counter attack with West Ham players caught upfield. Unfortunately, an equal number of passes that went straight to one of their players - including a few in dangerous areas like the one you mentioned. Other than Davis, the whole back 5 had bad days at the office against West Ham - the pick probably the couple of occasions when 2 of our players were both challenging for a high ball at the same time, making it easy for West Ham to get to the second ball. That lack of communication and understanding is pretty poor at any level. Going back to Muric, I think it's the timing of his distribution that he needs to work on rather any ability issues - either too quick and messing up the pass, or too long and his options being cut off.

Will Muric ever learn? on 13:09 - Oct 7 by SheffordBlue | For the ball to Morsy the latter is calling for it knowing that he's already under pressure. Part of the issue seems to be that Muric needs to learn when to say no to players who are calling for the ball. In my opinion Morsy bears some of the responsibility for this. |
Really no chance its Morsys fault Muric has the view of the whole pitch its called responsibility at the moment his making poor decisions on the ball .

I'd agree that he can see more of the pitch at that time than Morsy but our captain should also know the time and place to be demanding the ball when under pressure - he knows there are people around him and is still calling for it. As someone still quite new to the club it's not always easy saying no to your captain when he demands the ball. As Morsy is often the one offering for it under pressure the pair of them need to work out how to make the decision collectively.

Will Muric ever learn? on 14:27 - Oct 7 with 595 views | Vaughan8 | Strangely I thought agaqnst VIlla, he was a lot better and kicking it long when he needed too etc. That pass to Morsy was stupid, but Morsy is asking for it and despite some people saying "Morsy doesn't know he has players around him"......I would imagine he does, hence a first time pass. His pass is awful too! If he passes to to Greaves(?) properly, then its not a massive issue. However, He should just be passing/booting it away. I don't blame him too much for the 3rd goal. WHat a sh!te pass from Johnson. I'm hoping we learn from these mistakes......as he does seem like a decent goalie otherwise!

What do people mean when he is good with his feet ? Ok it’s not a lot of showtime so far but all I have seen in his games with us is more than 50% of his long balls go out or goes go an opposition player and his control seems pretty bad also - Man City - mis control and West Ham miss control ? Ok it was a bad back pass but one a seasoned pro should be able to control far more effectively than what he did. His shot stopping is very decent, his height is why he was part of why he was signed and preeence from corners certainly helps and is most likely why hladky wasn’t kept on but he currently feels like he will make at least one mistake a game and is deffo not an upgrade for Walton who our back line always seemed feel more assured in front of ? I’m not writing him off but we had the warnings from past clubs, we saw the warnings during preseason and now are getting the actual mistakes during our live games with a 10m fee to boot. When do you call it a day and maybe give him some time out to calm down or coach it out of him ?

Will Muric ever learn? on 13:55 - Oct 7 by TRUE_BLUE123 | Agree. Man City score a lot of goals like that. Muric can kick it miles as well. He did it in pre season. |
Exactly, and hence my comment afyer Saturdays game. about why is it we dont do a longer pass directly up to Delap. Once he's running with the ball ( from the half way line?) There's not much going to stop him. It's worth trying it occasionally I think.

Cast your mind back to Hull away in which the goalkeeper and Morsy did this exact thing. Why do you think teams press us they way they do? They've done their research and can see that a) we do it often and b) other teams get goals from it.

The bit you're possibly missing there is the number of times that Morsy receives under pressure having dragged 1 or 2 opposition players in, then clips a ball out to one of the CBs or full backs who then has far more space to pass/drive into because Morsy has taken the players with him. This happens far more frequently than the times we give up chances from him doing it.

It worked in the championship against teams not so good the goal v coventry was insane. Does it work for us now I'm not so sure. Think people think this is the way almost fashionable like one up front.

I do think we mix it up more than people think - 41% of Muric's passes this season have gone over 25 yards so it's not all short stuff that he's playing - it's just the dangerous ones stick in the memory.
