Blockage behind North stand yesterday 09:05 - Nov 3 with 1992 views | yesjohn99 | Anyone know why they’ve decided to basically block the corner of the north/cobbold stand? Took an absolute age to get through after the game.

Blockage behind North stand yesterday on 09:08 - Nov 3 with 1939 views | EastTownBlue | I just presumed that it was a security thing to prevent vehicles from going down behind the North. It slowed down things ridiculously though.
Bloody dangerous on 09:14 - Nov 3 with 1889 views | Dyland | Especially when emotions are high. A lot of swearing and anger directed at... well, whoever was responsible for putting it there.

Blockage behind North stand yesterday on 09:15 - Nov 3 with 1884 views | RIPbobby | A lot of issues around leaving Portman road I think it is also fan related. Next time you come out of the north look how many people turn right and then right again to walk up Portman road and hardly anybody turns left to walk up Russell road. It is much quicker to go left, up Russell road and then along the old staples building road. Noticed it loads over the years. I guess people are just set in their ways. But at o/p suggested it was odd they parked along the sir Alf road. Perhaps they are trying to get us to use the route I suggested.

What about the hordes of fans going through the car park and left towards Civic Drive! It's always been busy.

Also, they stop the cars from leaving the car park onto Portman Road but don’t bother with the back exit, resulting in people having to dodge cars, there was a confrontation yesterday with a driving getting out and squaring up to someone.

Anyone who parks there just needs to accept that they won’t be able to move for 15-20 mins. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Blockage behind North stand yesterday on 09:27 - Nov 3 with 1703 views | Kieran_Knows | Felt sorry for the poor young lad the other week (think it was Villa game) who was standing next to his van, some old git decided to have a proper go at him, as if he had set the cones/barriers up there on purpose. The young lad simply said ‘I’m just doing my job’, to which the old boy took the hump and started saying he was going to call his office and report him.

Not the blokes on the ground fault. Some moron decision maker needs some stick!
Blockage behind North stand yesterday on 10:30 - Nov 3 with 1471 views | algy | Basic problem is they are using traffic management methods in areas where safe people movement should br paramount. The H-Stop HVM vehicle barriers they are now using excessively are a "physical and visual hostile vehicle deterrent". Way over the top, unless there's a credible terrorist threat they're keeping quiet about. Which might also explain the level of metal detector use now deployed on us entering SBRU.

They don’t though unfortunately, they all head for the small back exit and squeeze as much as they can.

Hsm Traffic Management should be putting out their equipment well before the crowd starts arriving around the ground and then moving their vehicles away from the area until they need to return to collect the equipment. They leave vehicles within the crowd movement space for the convenience of their staff. Never happened before Hsm got the job. [Post edited 3 Nov 2024 23:24]

well they should, but they dont do they, and I dont understand why the police block the road halfway down princes street, instead at the traffic lights (where they might also encourage drivers to obey the red lights) because you get cars driving down Princes street stopping, then doing u turns, all whilst theres a mass of people walking across the road. one driver yesterday was getting all road ragey about it desperate to beat the queues and could easily have hit a number of fans in the process
