Indeed
“Yes, but he helped a Jew.”
Not “Yes, but he helped an Israeli.”
“helped a Jew.”
Re your last point. As previously stated, DJR replied as the op mentioned antisemitism.
Yep, it seems like there were definitely anti-semitic attacks, I'm 100% sure of that from what I've seen. Nobody should be disputing that. This goes beyond grievances with the State of Israel. Jews were targeted simply because they were Jewish.
Anyone who still thinks this was an unprovoked attack on Israelis or Jews, really needs to wake up. Some of the stuff the Israeli fans were chanting is disgusting. During a minute silence for victims of the floods in Spain, they booed and were heard chanting something about there being no schools in Gaza because the kids are dead. This because Spain has recognised Palestine as a state. The video of their fans on an escalator shows them chanting Let the IDF f••k the arabs. The western media seem to have ignored this, as did the mayor of Amsterdam and Netanyahu.

You are downplaying the violence inflicted on Jews in Amsterdam because some fans reportedly chanted anti-Arab songs and tore down flags. Your logic seems to be that mass violence against an identifiable group can be explained by the wrongdoing of some members of that group. There’s a word for that.

Would this be the "mass violence" which one of your earlier links said recalled the pogroms that resulted in 5 people spending a brief time in hospital? Must be nice having a functioning hospital to visit when you need one heh.

agreed, this is the same principle as israel killing thousands of palestinian civilians, because of the actions of some members of that group.
obviously a vastly different scale, but still to be condemned and prosecuted (as i believe the dutch are doing)

The western media and the Dutch authorities haven’t ignored the chants, burning of Palestinian flag and attacks carried out upon the Arabs before the match. It’s all been reported; the mayor opened her press conference by referring to those incidents. The media are leading on the attacks against the Jews, but I assume that’s because they sound more serious. None of the violence is acceptable of course.

Even before any of the trouble, a BBC journalist had reported Israeli fans, on his train, actively looking for a fight. He said it was very frightening. Sounds to me like a lot of Israelis went looking for trouble, probably with Arabs, then cried victim when they got their wish.

A minority of travelling football fans looking for a fight. I’m shocked, Yeah every Jew in Amsterdam, or those suspected of being Jewish like the Ukrainian who was set upon, deserved to be violently attacked by Arab gangs. You are desperate to excuse the inexcusable because in your demented oppressor/oppressed adolescent worldview Israelis can't be victims.
Every weekend for the past 13 months we have seen some members of the Muslim community at the pro Palestinian marches burning and defacing Israeli flags, chanting for the death of Jews, chanting in support of Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis, intimidating members of the British Jewish community and spraying anti semitic graffiti on Jewish businesses, schools and religious institutions.
By your logic this should excuse Jewish vigilante groups in hunting down and inflicting violence on members of the Muslim community. How very Farage of you.

If these attacks were directed specifically at Israeli men (who in all liklihood by the way will have served for the military in Israel) and after the wrecking of a taxi and public display of support for the actions of the Israeli state the night before are they antisemitic or just mindless acts of violence?

At least Sky are now giving a little more context to the events. The evidence shows it was NOT a tiny minority of Tel Aviv fans misbehaving, chanting racist slogans about ethnic cleansing and disrespecting the minute silence.

Exactly! Calling attacks on Israeli supporters "antisemitic" is deliberately ignoring the provocative behaviour of Tel Aviv supporters, towards Arabs. If you travel in large numbers, to a foreign city and insult a group of it's population, based on their ethnicity (I think we can all agree, that's racism), don't cry 'racism' when they react to that behaviour. Comparing these attacks to a progrom is actually shameful.

Looks like this video has been removed from Youtube. Strange.
