I've lived here, other than 3 years, all my life and believe you me it isn't. The only thing left from the days of Sudbury being a nice town are the water meadows. Cornard has improved greatly as it has grown but Sudbury and Cornard are basically the same place now. |  | | |

Schools and Country Park in Cornard are pretty good, other than that it's just a massive housing estate with a few nicer roads (where I live, obviously)
Sudbury town center has deteriorated loads in recent years but like you say the meadows are great. |  | | |

I don't think it is only Sudbury town centre that has declined in recent years.... every other town and many cities are stuggling too
Sky high rent/rates and utilities
Out of town bix box retail units

Have all had catastrophic effect

Sudbury and Cornard have basically merged into one nowadays. I suspect Melford and Sudbury will end up the same in a few decades.
Cornard and Springlands always used to get looked down on because a lot of them were London overspill who had been moved to the estates in the 70s. I remember kids who came from those places going to Sudbury Upper in the early/mid 90s getting sh!t for it, called peasants etc. | |
