It's a rather eye-opening reminder of the power of social media and, more importantly, the power of 'trial by social media'.

When we get the level of pile-ons that we do whenever someone is outed online as having committed a transgression (including urging employers to sack them etc.,) it's little surprise that such serious consequences can result.

My heart goes out to his family and friends, regardless of the alleged transgressions.

You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright.
