Someone I spoke to yesterday mentioned that they don’t have a TV license and as a consequence they aren’t allowed to watch live tv and this includes sport which isn’t on the BBC.
Now she said to get around this they simply pause a match and watch a few minute after it’s started so that they aren’t technically watching live telly.
Are they right in the two above points? Just seemed incorrect information- I have tried to google this but haven’t found anything and it’s been bugging me.
Tbh I got rid my BBC licence a couple of years ago. Only because I genuinely don't watch terrestrial TV.
I pay for Now, Prime, Netflix & Brit Box & use you tube far too much then I should. & if I wanted to I can still watch catch up demand channels like Channel 4, MY5 & ITV. It's only the BBC iplayer you cannot watch.
As long as you do not watch ANYTHING live you are fine. Pausing a channel when it's been transmitted live is illegal.
You also do not need a TV licence if you listen to a BBC Radio station from the Radio. Even though I feel you should.
