They sound like a friendly bunch then! I will just have some time to kill before the game so was hoping for a beer somewhere - maybe I'll just get in the ground early!
Wolves away pub on 09:18 - Dec 13 with 2946 views | Pinewoodblue | Cut and pasted from Wolves official website “Ipswich supporters will have use of the new dedicated away pub, The Prince Albert. It’s around a three-minute walk from the train station, and around seven-minute walk from the official coach parking” Looks like there is now an official away pub. Can remember trying to get into Littern tree a few years ago. Held door open for wife and they let her in but wouldn’t let me and the kids in. She was wearing an orange away kit!.

Always found one of the most dangerous places to go area wise. Had hassle there in the early 80s when we lost 3-0 think we hag just signed Thijsen. Dodgy area for me more so if going via train. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Only been there once, in the Burley days. Not keen to go back, just didn't seem like a very nice place. I recently came across some accounts of Operation Growth, which was a West Midlands police operation against Wolves hooligans in the 1980s. According to the account here the usual standards of 1980s police probity were upheld - http://www.molineuxmix.co.uk/forum/index.php?threads/stories-of-the-undercover-p
Wolves away pub on 17:08 - Dec 13 with 2191 views | Bluespeed225 | Went in The Goalpost before the cup game in 94’. Just me and a mate, was told to keep quiet and we’d be ok as there was just the two of us! Bit of fun and games after, worked up,there during the summer fitting out a Carpetright, locals were sound as a pound!
Wolves away pub on 17:43 - Dec 13 with 2141 views | TresBonne | Echoing this thread, bloke my old man plays golf with who's a Wolves fan told us to keep our heads down, emotions are running very very very high at the moment - angry at manager, board, players everything! And there have been instances of them taking said anger out on away fans this season, so be wary and don't gob off...not that any of you would of course!

I cant remember what year it was but it was definitely in the Burley years, we went, managed to get in the Wetherspoons, and learnt afterwards they dont allow away fans in, somehow we'd missed door security checking for tickets. and Wolves either won or got a draw from it, the game was nothing to get worked up about but post game there were a whole bunch of them waiting outside in the car parks for away fans to come out and throwing punches at anyone that didnt have home colours, or sounded local, and there was no sign of any police, was definitely a make a sharp harp exit from that place. even during the game we were in the bottom tier of one of the side stand, with home fans above us, and they were coining us, chucking cups of "drink" etc etc, not a friendly bunch for sure.

Really ? I’ve been to Wolves a few times I thought it was ok. It’s not hard is it to blend in with the locals, unless of course you are wearing a town shirt. Just don’t act like a div when supping the black countries finest.

Wolves away pub on 07:52 - Dec 14 with 1411 views | Paramedic | Went to the cup game in ‘94. Didn’t wear colours and got into a pub. However it wasn’t long before the locals realised we were Town and it felt like the whole place were just looking at us including a bloke sat in the window looking away from us with an eye tattooed on the back of his bald bonce. Didn’t finish our pints and got out of there but not without muttering of “southern c****” on the way out. After the game walking back to the car my mate was delightfully pushed off the pavement in front of an on coming car and narrowly avoided being run over. Lovely folks.

Not easy to blend in when ordering a beer with a suffolk accent. Remember going a Wolves game in the 80s, got into a pub (not wearing colours) and barman refused to serve us as we ordered beers. Before we could say anything else he pointed out 'that East Anglia accent stands out a mile away'. Not sure what I was more annoyed about, couldn't get a beer or the fact he called it an East Anglia accent and had bracket us with Norfolk.

Yeah it’s a big old place East Anglia when you think about it.But to be lumped in with that lot North of the border isn’t happy..

Same. Actually thought it was one of the friendliest, as we've chatted with locals in the pub etc. Birmingham and Rotherham (where police warned us we were being followed) have been the worst for me.

Went in the 80s with a local Wolves fan, all Ipswich fans headed for coaches or trains and we took a short cut and were set upon by so called friendly locals….not one of my favourite grounds.
