OPTA Stats for Relegation 13:25 - Dec 16 with 2477 views | IP9 | https://theanalyst.com/eu/2024/08/opta-football-predictions Interesting to see we are still predicted to be relegated to 2nd bottom at 34%, even after the weekend's victory, rather than 3rd bottom or even survival given only a 17% chance! I find it hard to believe we would be able to grind out a 0-0 at Arsenal like Everton managed, for example. New manager bounces for Wolves and Southampton also worry me!

OPTA Stats for Relegation on 14:18 - Dec 16 with 2124 views | GavTWTD | We have a 25.4% chance of staying up. That's ok, but its worse than Wolves. It says at the bottom that the calculations take into account the betting markets which I'm not sure should be in their equations.

OPTA Stats for Relegation on 15:00 - Dec 16 with 1870 views | SuperKieranMcKenna | Sir Bobby couldn’t save Southampton at this point. If I was a Saints fan I’d just be hoping for damage limitation now, and not beating Derby’s record. Not really surprising bookies prefer Wolves - based on squad value, and ‘established’ status. However, our leveller is the best manager by a long shot, and owners that will back him on Jan.

The betting markets are likely more accurate than their super computer, these are the places that actually have to put their money where their mouth is

Suspect they may be without their best player for a few games, Matheus Cunha will surely be banned for an extended period. They're also hiring a coach that's never worked in the Premier League.

My thoughts as well. With the perceived value of our squad & the fact that hardly any of them have prem experience, compared to the rest of the division we should be below Southampton. It’s a credit to the whole club that we still have a chance to stay up, albeit a slim one. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
OPTA Stats for Relegation on 18:13 - Dec 16 with 1144 views | cymroglas | I may be wrong and perhaps these stats will fairly reflect where teams will end up. But I am optimistic. The stats don’t reflect that we are in most games, players are gelling more and more and adjusting to the PL. There will be a bounce back with Wolves and Soton having new managers….but I would still rather be where we are….with a Manager who knows his squad and has shown his adaptability. Wolves have disciplinary problems. Season may well turn on who Soton, Wolves, us, Everton Leicester etc sign in the window …..
