Muric in Premiership team of the week 10:50 - Dec 18 with 2277 viewsfab_lover

Well, after more than a couple of complaints about our number 1 in this forum, he's goalie of the week here:

(If that doesn't work, taken from this Guardian article):

Does that make people opposed to him staying between the posts wrong ? Thoughts ?

How is this possible, he's the worst keeper on earth.

Apparently......

According to PXG (whatever that is). He's the 6th best performing goalkeeper in the premier league this season.

What? How does that work?
I read on here that he is ITFC's worst ever goalkeeper.

Watching 'Town In Five (plus)' I lost count of the number of times Music claimed balls or firmly pushed them away. Imperious stuff.

Yep must give defence a lot of confidence when claiming ball. His handling is usually superb as well. Had bit of a wobble Saturday after the goal. Cannot understand people calling for Walton. No where near the keeper Muric is.

I'm a big fan of Jano's but sitting here with my sensible head on I doubt that was the best keeper's performance from last weekend.

I don't get the negativity around Muric. He ranks first in High Claims in the premier league, 50% ahead of David Raya. He ranks fourth in saves. We have not so far conceded a goal from a corner which is astonishing given our largely League 1 defence. Many opposing fans despair that their corners go straight to Muric. He has come up with some incredible saves in several matches. Errors are always magnified when it comes to goalkeepers; yes he has made some errors of judgement, but that's what coaching is for. The qualities he brings to the team far outweigh any negatives. We should all get behind him.

Without meaning to be pernickety, did we not concede from a corner against Spurs?

Either way, I do think people are really underestimating how good he has been commanding his area. It's something that Vaz was not particularly good at, and would have been found wanting many times this season had he remained here.

Muric's errors have been magnified due to the shear calamitous nature of them, but also when they've happened in the games (dying moments with no real chance to make up for them). That being said, they have actually been few and far between in number.

He's also still pretty young for a GK. He's got the potential to be a really top GK

I don't think his ability to make good saves is what people bemoan. He's clearly a good shot stopper and as others have pointed out, he's great at crosses into the box in general.

However he has a proclivity for calamity.

Hence why in addition to to his PXG (which will be the XG of shots he faces minus how many he concedes) being really good, his claim numbers being high, etc...

He also has the most errors leading to goals.

Yes, my mistake, you are correct about the Spurs goal.
