I would also add that the Geordies were the best away supporters of the season.

Yeah, I know that's easy when they went a goal up so early, but they were pretty good even before kick off.

Because it was a part of the ground where there were a large block of seats free and the North Stand can join in.

Or, from the club's point of view perhaps, "it was a part of the ground where there were a large block of seats free" which traditionally were difficult to fill and moving a singing section there freed up seats in the more saleabe NS.
