Advice needed for return flight to asia 11:23 - Dec 30 with 1049 views | RIPbobby | Hi chaps. Long time (8 years) since I have had a holiday overseas and I would like to get a return flight to an Asian island. I have found one that kind of suits me for around £800 from an online company called Skyscanner. Now are these kind of companies legit? Back in the day id often get this all done with a travel agent, but my family owns an apartment on this island so all I really need is the flights. Do I go with said random company and pay on credit card to use the section 75 protection or do I go to travel agents like the old school way. Flights are with Malaysian airlines which I think are ok. My recommendation would be to go directly via the airline where possible as it will be easier to enact any changes should something go wrong (at either your end or theirs). When you click on a flight on skyscanner it will show you the various prices/companies offering the rate so should be able to see it. Alternatively, just go straight on the Malaysian Airlines website and book through them. Would recommend paying with credit card either way.

I use emirates 4-5 times a year and can recommend, they might go to your destination (via Dubai or singapore)

Except that in fifteen years never once have I got a flight upgrade or any other freebie. Was recommended Trip.com a couple of years ago and have used them a bit since then. My last flight bookings also turned up a free VIP lounge pass, which is a really good perk. Also, if you can find Trip.com on TopCashBack then you get a few more pounds off eventually.

Have done most places via these two, like: Denpasar, Siem Reap, Penang etc where you need to change. I'd go direct on their websites. I wouldn't use skyscanner etc for personal use as they'll shaft you if it gets cancelled. I've used it loads of times for work where it's less of a problem and managed to get a better cabin from less budget.
