How many games I have heard fans moaning at Delap getting subbed.
The number of times I have heard "a tired Delap is twice the player of Ali"
Delap runs himself into the ground every game. Around 70-75 mins he often looks visibly fatigued, if McKenna risked him for the remainder and he pulls up with a hamstring or groin issue we then lose him for weeks if not months.
McKenna clearly knew this was an issue hence the fact we were trying to get another striker in but unfortunately failed. |  |

Agree with the above, & AAH is the obvious direct replacement, BUT yesterday when that ball was played in to the right hand channel he took about 3 paces & stopped, I’m screaming at him to chase it down, defender collects with ease under no pressure from Ali & it’s coming straight back at us……..for heavens sake he’s only been on a few minutes & has a job to do you’d at least think he’d watch LD’s attitude & work ethic & some might rub off on him. A total waste of a squad member.

Agreed Ali is not up this level
But we have limited options and have to play the cards we are dealt.
I would be very surprised if we go into Feb with Ali as the back up striker.
And let's not forget we have Hirst who I think is actually better at link up play than Delap. Although Delap has certainly improved vastly in that area over the season. | |

What is the benefit of bringing him on instead of chucking harry clarke uptop.
I wouldn't ever suggest such a change, but if you can't even run for a ball what is the actual point in bringing a player on. |  |
