I think he's actually director of football or something like that but keeps stepping in as interim manager as Hartlepool get through their managers quite regularly.

Changed to the singular in 1977, I've just read. Was the plural as it was Hartlepool and West Hartlepool, which were separate entities.

In the 80’s the local scooter club were called The Monkey Hangers and all had a cuddly monkey in a noose attached to their backrests. A Napoleonic thing historically.
