Man United vs PSR 22:20 - Jan 23 with 1316 viewsmutters

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx2mknlvyw3o

It seems that over the last 3 years, Man United have lost over £255m (113.2m last year, £28.7m in 2022-23 and £115.5m in 2021-22) whereas the threshold for clubs is £105m over 3 years.

Surely they are already in breach of PSR by quite a considerable margin or am I missing something?

I hope someone can enlighten us as this perplexes me.

I guess that's why Rashford is off and they're considering selling Garnacho too - there'll need to be more sales too to get to £255m!!

Surely though they have already broken PSR as the last three years of accounts are way ahead of the allowed limit. Selling a player now will count towards the next set of accounts?

Or they could do the right thing and take the points deduction?!

Or ask players to delay some of their exorbitant wages.

Can only assume they have got some of that counted against allowed losses on things like infrastructure, academy etc?

Yep, any sales now count against the accounts for June 30th this year.

This has already been covered in another thread on here today. Basically, these figures are their total losses. PSR doesn't cover all club finances, only certain losses are taken into account (transfer fees, wages etc).

I wonder if there's money going out to the Glazers included, too. Loan repayments or some other structured format which isn't withdrawal of investment.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?
