Pedant here, that’s actually a Sam & Dave song
Nothing wrong with being a pedant.
As it is, the first draft of my post did include the words "admittedly not the original" but I removed them in the final version.
As it was, the song wasn't written by Sam and Dave, and the following from Wikipedia, as well as my own comparison of the the two versions, made me think it was fine to attribute the song to Costello.
Costello's version was drastically rearranged from the original, turning it from a slow soul ballad into an uptempo Northern soul-style dance track.
