Posting this before any potential melt down after this afternoon 12:28 - Jan 25 with 1057 viewsVic

We've got our squad - we've paid a lot of money and we're not likely to make it much better. In truth we've got better players than most of us hoped back in July. I'm proud of the team so far this season. OK so we've come up a little short in too many matches but we've played good football and rarely disgraced ourselves. And by hook or by crook we've managed to stay in touch with 17th place until this window.

Now we've strengthened and got important players back fit and the squad looks a lot better, with quality to come off the bench that we haven't had so far this season. To stay up we need to continue to improve and not just rely on Foxes and Wolves to do worse than us!

can we do it? Who knows, but i think the bottom line for me is that we now have a squad that is as strong, if not stronger than i could have hoped for this season. If it's good enough then fantastic. If it's not then we will have certainly given it everything we've got and then some. We can have no regrets and few recriminations - everyone has done everything they can do.

OK, lets go for this 2nd half of the season and see where we get to. COYB

Can we do it Bob?

Yes we can.

Don't believe a word I say. I'm only kidding. Or am I?

Have you seen the thread below about score expectations?!

I dont see any melt down happening later. We all know where were are, and the journey weve been on.

I have! And I hope your right about later on! I guess i just dint want my wonderfully insightful thoughts to be lost in the welter of post match comments! Boiled down it's we are where we are, last week or this week won't define the season (unless it comes down to GD, then they might!) - and given the squad we now have we've got as good a chance of staying up as we could realistically hope to have. Just my thoughts - I'm sure they don't add a lot or anything we didn't know - but if we only posted fresh thinking or hot takes there wouldn't be much on here would there!

There won't be a mass meltdown, there never really is.

Just the usual suspects who seem to enjoy it a little too much...
