2Bundesliga on 18:01 - Jan 27 with 804 views | Zx1988 | It'd be nice to see another representative of the former DDR Oberliga finally make it into the Bundesliga, joining the likes of Lokomotive Leipzig, Dynamo Dresden, Energie Cottbus, Union Berlin, and Hansa Rostock in that rather elite club. As a Hertha BSC fan, I'd also laugh myself into a hospice if Schalke ended up leaving the division via the other end.

That's got me wondering how they sorted out the German league system post unification. Presumably would've been after the 90-91 season. May have to have a little look on wiki later but I can certainly remember Dresden being a leading side in the DDR along with Hansa Rostock before the wall came down.

They've won even fewer home games than we have!
| Veni Vidi Participatur. Now we can get back to competing. |

They split the 14 Oberliga teams throughout the divisions. Dynamo Dresden and Hansa Rostock ended up in the Bundesliga (2/20 doesn't feel to have been the fairest allocation, given that five of the sixteen Bundesländer made up the DDR*). Six across the two second divisions, with the remainder being placed across the regionalised third tier. *see also the unfairness of 99% of the rest of Die Wende und Wiedervereinigung...
