I doubt he'll be starting. Had the chance to rejoin us in the summer and instead signed for Southampton. Saints fans say he is a red card waiting to happen every game.
Hopefully if he does get on one of our players will wind him up and he snaps. |  |

That was my view in the summer. But he didn't succeed at West Ham and he hasn't stepped up to Premier League standard for Saints.

What would ‘success’ at West Ham looked like to you? He made the step up to the Premier League, played over half the games despite having England’s number 6 to compete with and won a European trophy! - fans weren’t happy when he went to Southampton!
Southampton have been a joke in the Premier League due to Russell Martin’s weird dogmatic focus, don’t think you can level that as a negative at Downes, personally- but appreciate he’s maybe not hit the expected levels this season regardless! | | | |
