Bury Town "Community" FC 15:19 - Feb 21 with 1483 viewsSaffronWaldenBlues

Appears to be the element of Bury Town FC that manages the Youth/Ladies/Disability teams. I am not sure that Bury Town can claim they are a different club, purely based on the fact they have different committees, it's clear they are part of Bury Town FC and even use the crest.

That would be like Ashton claiming our Foundation/Ladies team were something else.

An East Anglian Town overtaken by Londoners

Does it matter?

The worst thing about it is the club getting emails/social media posts criticising them. Some people really need to grow up.

Truly impaired.

I just think it's a strange defense from Bury Town. Their Youth system has partnered with Norwich City, committees being different or not, that's what happened there. If their fans are as unhappy with it as some of the responses have suggested they should at least own up to it. There is no reason a "totally different" club would rock up with their scarf to the PR shoot.

A lot is made of the “Norwich’s academies are infiltrating Suffolk clubs” thing but has anything remarkable ever come of that in terms of them “poaching” really good young players off our doorstep?

Liam Gibbs is the one that comes to mind, and he even technically played for the first team in the EFL Trophy.

The only Suffolk club they infiltrated there was Ipswich, who presumably didn't have a partnership with them

Ultimately these clubs exist to do what is best for themselves, not Ipswich fans who sometimes pop along when Town are away from home. Complete non-issue which has been massively blown out of proportion and reflects badly on Ipswich, not Bury

Norwich have clearly been taking the p*ss the last few years, and they have made Bury Town look bad.

If Norwich offer Bury a financial incentive to 'connect', whatever that even means, are they supposed to turn it down? These clubs need to do whatever they can to survive in many places, if this eases the burden then it's a non-issue

I also think Brantham are partnered with PSG so really not sure what it means at all, if anything

Ultimately they can do what they want but agree that as defensive arguments go it’s pretty poor.

Panicking do you think? They seem to be getting grief from some of their own supporters although how widespread that is amongst their fan base I wouldn’t know.
