I used the terms to describe Morsy before Christmas (with, I believe, nearly a hundred down-votes). But, that pretty much describes the team this year, and has been used many times.

The galling thing is, McKenna stated we would improve as the season progressed. I think relegation with an improving side would be easier to take, but it feels like we are not learning and adapting and really not giving this opportunity our best shot. That 2nd half was truly awful.

Improving my a$$, we have regressively become worse as the season progresses. Other than the draws with Fulham and Villa, all our return fixtures have seen us performing worse than the first one.

Not just the results, the whole style of play, individual performances, transitions and interplays, it’s all non existent. We are not winning second balls in midfield, we have no width even after smashing 50m on wingers, we don’t want to put balls into the box. They are not clinical enough including philogene who ironically apart from his 2 gifted goals gave us nothing that justifies a quarter of what was paid for him, Clarke first half looked good but not athletic enough to damage against better players either.

Question: is “regressively become worse” a double negative and therefore implies we have got better?
