The Electric Soft Parade - Holes In The Wall.
The Verve - A Storm In Heaven.
The Libertines - Up The Bracket.
Pendulum - In Silico.
The Smiths - The Queen Is Dead.
The Smiths - Strangeways, Here We Come.
Suede - Suede
Chapterhouse - Whirlpool.
Spiritualized - Lazer Guided Melodies.
Spiritualized - Pure Phase.
The Sundays - Reading, Writing And Arithmetic.
Cowboy Junkies - The Trinity Session.
R.O.C - R.O.C.

I've gone for what I consider the most complete albums/albums with the most best tracks on them, but in reality I listen more to my own compilations as Spotify playlists these days. For example I couldn't place one best White Stripes album, but my own 'best of' compilation is banging!

Edit 2, just missing the top 13/ones I forgot;
Gomez - Bring It On.
The Las - The Las.
Arctic Monkeys - Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not.
The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses (left out just because I've played it to death and they have some great songs not on the album).

And no mention of ...

... well far too many to list but how about

Nick Cave - The Boatman's Call (or possibly Murder Ballads)
Can - Ege Bamyasi
Zappa - Hot Rats
Scott Walker - Scott 2 perhaps
Beefheart - Safe As Milk
Aretha Franklin - Lady Soul
Elton John - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
Big Star - Record #1
The Fall - This Nation's Saving Grace
John Martyn - Solid Air
Van Morrison - Moondance
Joan Armatrading - Joan Armatrading
MLDE - Marxist Love Disco Ensemble

And still no room for Traffic, Roxy, Eno, Talking Heads etc etc etc

Not listened to Ege Bamyasi in a long while, time to dig it out..

A fantastic album IMO but then I don't think there is a Can album I don't like.

The Trinity Sessions might just win most atmospheric album yet (beating off fierce competition from Joy Division), good call.

I don't think we have had any Ian Dury yet so New Boots and Panties are necessary, or maybe Live Stiffs and that way Dave Edmunds and Wreckless Eric get included. Also need Howling Wind from Graham Parker and the Rumour.

[Edit: and how did I forget Air ? 10,000 Hz Legend maybe. For old times sake
The Human League - Dare
U2 - The Unforgettable Fire
Eurythmics - Touch
UB40 - Signing Off

Ok, here we go. No the best but essentially those I’d grab first for that desert island stint. I’ve just about tried to avoid compilations otherwise I’d be including Rolling Stones, Quadrophenia (version made from the film score, Talking Heads and others.

Dark side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Trick of the Tale - Genesis
Status Quo Live (1976) - Status Quo
Making Movies - Dire Straits
Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
Songs in the Key of Life - Stevie Wonder
Aladdin Sane - David Bowie
Who’s Next - The Who
Regatta de Blanc - Police
Tea for the Tillerman - Cat Stevens
Hotel California - Eagles
Led Zeppelin IV - Led Zeppelin
True Blue - Madonna

There are plenty that are better, more highly regarded, but personal preference is a funny thing based as much as anything else on age.
