Cajuste is our best player by a mile... 09:28 - Mar 16 with 1156 viewstractorboy1978

He wouldn't look out of place at all in most PL starting 11s. A Rolls Royce of a midfielder that I expect will be plying his trade at a Forest, Brentford or Bournemouth next summer now he seems to have proven he can play a run of games.

I'd love us to be able to sign him if we got relegated but feels like we have no hope to me.

Agreed, though like lots of our players we've needed him to learn the premier league 'on the job'. One of those other teams you've mentioned will get the benefit from that.

Whereas established premier league teams can spend a season getting players acclimatised, we've needed to throw them in and hope it works. This being the challenge for any promoted team - established players tend to go to the established teams, so we have to take a punt on players who might make the step up/sideways.

Back to Cajuste though, he is genuinely a joy to watch, and has that knack of retaining possession even when it looks like the ball is lost. All about body shape, strength, positioning etc.

I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun. I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.

Had his knee not been shot, he's already been at Brentford.

They decided against signing him because of the knee.

That's why he's here with us and we could get him.

Has to be player of the year, even considering his injury

He's a joy to watch, gliding effortlessly and elegantly past opponents. Not afraid to do the ugly side of job too. This is his level, which means sadly he probably won't be with us next season.

The only reason why we could get he and Phillips was because they were not 100%.

Phillips flopped in his loan spell at West Ham last season. A loan to Town looked a good move for all parties - he gets a chance to resurrect his career, we get a player potentially at a higher level than we had. For me, Phillips hasn't done enough. He's not getting back in the Man City squad & he can either sit there & count his money or hope for another loan to a promoted club, say Leeds.
Cajuste has done well here so he can either hope to get back into the Napoli team or get a move to another PL club in the summer.

Have literally said all season he’s the one who we’ve bought in who looks right at this level.

£10m obligation if we stayed up, fantastic value for money - even when we had a great deal on the table we’ve let it slip through our fingers, sums up our recruitment in the past 2 windows really.

First hand evidence of better value for money away from the shores of English leagues.

I'm not saying anyone on this thread is wrong and his goal yesterday was excellent but that's his only goal so far and I would like him to score a few more plus he has this dodgy knee apparently and rarely plays 90 minutes. These points to have to be factered into his value .

Yes. Unless Delap quickly finds his scoring boots for the majority of the remaining games.
