I think the link to Sheeran is a positive and we are traditionally a club that plays attractive football. English people often like the plucky underdog too.
Generally, most people who don't like Ipswich are nodge fans. There are a few others but most people have very little reason to dislike us. |  |

Aren't we, as fans, in the same boat as the the fans of the vast majority of clubs (of whatever size) who have no chance of winning anything?
In that sense, and with little in the way of tourist fans, we have much more in common than unites us, and I think that is all the OP was saying.
