Watching Southampton players applauding away end after being relegated on 16:18 - Apr 6 with 1297 views | The_Major | Earliest Prem relegation apparently, with seven games left. Previous record was six for Derby in 07/08, and, er, us in 94/95. Just seen we were only four points off safety in 63/64. I always thought we were marooned that year.

Them at home, along with Man U (a) - win both of those, as we absolutely ought, and we'd still have a faint sniff of getting out of this. Second half at Old Trafford was, perhaps, the worst half of football we've had under McK.

KM was furious that night, straight over to the away end, then straight down the tunnel. Didn't wait for the players. So many games where we could have gained points, but even if we had 10+ more, we'd still likely end up being relegated.

I dunno, I think yesterday came close. Had similar feeling at half time to when in the stands at Old Trafford that we would win the game and didn’t see the 2nd half performances coming for either.

Leicester annoyed me at the time and still does. Not so much playing badly but the outcome of it. We were looking alright at 1-0, denied that stone wall pen on Chaplin, Phillips red from the resulting plan and inevitable injury time equaliser. Hey ho we're not going down due to bad luck, it shakes out in the end and the bottom 3 are the worst 3, but that still annoys me. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
