Wycombe - proper club on the up 19:07 - Apr 30 with 1230 viewsitfc_bucks

I've not been impressed with them on the pitch since their managerial change, despite seemingly being in the minority on that, but off the pitch, they're on a proper journey, not at all unlike ourselves.

Ambitious, well funded new owner.

Commitment to the academy.

Building community links.

And now, U14 season ticket, anywhere in the ground is £25 and comes with a free home kit.

Really nice to see clubs getting it right.

They need to do something crowds have been dismal there for a while. The engagement of younger fans has also been dismal. In the early 2000’s crowds used to be about 6000 but they have struggled badly crowd wise in the last 8 or so years.

It a really good deal on the ST’s but the club is focusing on the academy above everything else and there’s lots of stuff going on there that isn’t good.

They spent a significant amount of Money in Jan for Wycombe and the players have hardly been in squads. Their journey isn’t similar to ours imo, it alll looks good but scratching behind the scenes it’s a club that has lots to do.

They’ve been near the top of the league all season, and their crowds are up on last season but still well down on two and three years ago. Making it very cheap for U14s (as opposed to U11s or 12s, which is more common) is probably a smart adjustment.

Wycombe must be just about at the top of the league for longest since they sacked a manager. I’m guessing it might be as long as 20 years.

I thought Bloomfield left because he wasn’t happy with the way the owners were carrying on behind the scenes? I may have that wrong though.

Poll: Do you think Pert is key to all of this?
