I think there is a world of difference laying down holding a body part feigning injury and suddenly jumping up to take a quick free kick in order to try to catch the opposition out. It is clear gamesmanship whereas what you quote are considered par for the course and presumably top level referees are now so used to it that they take no consideration at all of player reactions in those situations.
