Shout out for Palmer 19:26 - May 10 with 3200 viewsSuffolkPunchFC

I’ve written about my frustration with Palmer in recent posts - not helping give us a threat.

Last game I saw the green-shoots of a different player, and today he was excellent with his feet, inviting the press and (mostly) comfortably with his feet (that one ball that went under his foot for a corner notwithstanding). At times he was also quick to release, be it a kick or a throw.

Very promising improvement.

Yes, how dare I have an opinion on a forum that you happen to disagree with.

You're allowed to have your opinion just as much as I'm allowed to disagree with it.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

I think music was a good call last night tbf,
But Muric has the higher ceiling he isn't a bad goalie,

Muric made errors when we felt we had a chance of staying up, especially against Southampton. Palmer then had a game where he saved everything against Villa. The team seemed happier with him, and obviously the fans responded too.

I think Muric is a better keeper, but I like Palmer’s vibes. After he made that ridiculous mistake against Wolves, he faced up to the North Stand at half time and applauded us. But he has made a few mistakes, and his distribution and concentration is nowhere near as good as Muric’s.

I think I’d rather Muric started next year. Possibly less pressure and hopefully he’ll gain some experience and presence. But I expect he’ll be moved on.

“His concentration is nowhere near as good as Muric’s”

That’s a good one. Really.

Disagreeing with an opinion is one thing, calling it hyperbolic nonsense is a bit much. Respectfully disagreeing is an alternative another time.

FFS the people on this forum can be complete d1cks at times.

This was not a thread about Muric, but still some feel the need to bash him.

It was not about Palmer being the next Messiah for us in goal.

It was me (having previously been critical of Palmer’s reluctance to build from the back, or initiate a quick release) saying that there were improvements in that area during yesterday’s game. Simple as that - not saying he’s excellent with his feet, not saying he doesn’t make mistakes, and certainly not saying he’s suddenly better than Muric in this respect - just saying I welcome some improvements in this area, and hope the good coaching continues.

He didn’t need to be the messiah. He just had to make sure to not make inexplicable errors in most games that cost us ridiculous goals. Something which he has managed to achieve.

But he has - and he’s been lucky to get away with them. Not to mention conceding significantly more gpg.

Saying about Palmer "with his feet he is absolutely diabolical" is hyperbolic nonsense to me. Sorry if that upsets you, but it's just not true.

Since we bought him he's been regularly played by McKenna. And has used his feet to good effect throughout. He clearly isn't absolutely diabolical.

I have no respect for your opinion when it's so demonstrably wrong.

Trust the process. Trust Phil.

Agree to disagree and I’m done, as I don’t really need to keep being spoken to like this.
