As one of the worst manager's we've ever had one said - "nae normal". Unfortunately, the way we've gone down reminds me of 2018/19. With a whimper and a round of applause.

You might not be saying it's a negative so maybe this doesn't apply to you but I never understand why some people would rather we had a toxic atmosphere and fans/players exchanging angry words at the end of games, over supporters supporting the team and clapping them off, relegation or not. Think people have forgotten what supporting actually means. Someone mentioned the other day on the Lambert thread, rather bravely, that he did a good job of trying to make sure that toxic atmosphere never materialized, and it probably led to us still getting decent crowds in L1.

As much as people think they have, they haven’t downed tools or failed to put the effort in. I’d hate to think how many hours a week Kieran and Aston are putting in. It’s certainly disappointing and I’d have hoped to do better, but I think I underestimated how good the teams in this league are now. Even the ‘small’ teams like Brentford have experienced £40-50m players they can call on. We’ve got the lowest value squad in the league, lots of players with no PL experience before this season and we’re relying on kids in their first season of the PL to fire us to safety. The gap’s just too big unless you’ve got 4 or 5 players coming into their prime who can make that jump up in quality. [Post edited 18 May 17:36]

They’ve shown serious ambition and have stated they don’t interfere with football matters. I hope behind closed doors during the season review all the right questions are asked though? I think we need focus on our scouting network and possibly bring in a top recruitment level position. Seems Ashton wears a lot of hats.

? Yes those guys. I'm not saying anything other than it's been an embarrassing campaign. Not suggesting they're fuming and should sack everyone.

I would agree, on Sunday there will be a celebration at the end of the game, crowd singing about getting promoted next season, - so strange as it has literally been our worst season for many a year. records broken for our inability to win at home this year.

I think there's a delicate balance between expectation and a toxic atmosphere. I don't think any true fan wants the latter, but it felt like we eased ourselves out of the Championship with barely any expectation from the stands and the collapse this year - albeit, yes, at least partially due to injuries and suspensions - has eventually followed a similar route.
