Hard to know how dramatic to be about that in all. We read the script and went along with it like
Meryl Streep. Brushed aside far too easy, there were home fans walking out with us moaning that Vardy didn’t celebrate in front of them. The fact they weren’t still in there celebrating with him, seemed lost on them.
The whole flags, scoreboard and “Vards” stuff was pretty nauseating but giving him a guard of honour during the game was astounding. I hope the EFL tear another strip off them for that alone.
Felt like Town were individuals today. Lots of mistakes, bickering and half glanced goes at goal. People were picking their scapegoats in the away end, but narrowing it down to one player or even five seemed fruitless. I’m more worried we had all the fight of a bunch of quakers. That was more inexcusable than anything else we saw today.
The game had long gone before we really tried to peg them back, but laughable VAR checks, cynical fouls and moaning all around seemed to sum up the season. Let alone the pointless display today. |  |
