Personally I think IF we can keep him fit, Hirst is more than capable to be the main number 9, and we just need an equivalent as backup.
I still think Delap was signed to be a winger but became unplayable at the start of the season when Hirst was dropped, and we carried on from there. |  |

The problem is Hirst's injury record isn't great but I agree if he's fit he'll do well for us.

We have struggled to find players for that role and it isn't going to be easy again. At least we have some money to throw at it. I would hope we look at Conway and get someone none of us has mentioned along the lines of Ioanidis/Broja through the door. By that I mean they hadn't been mentioned in advance of our interest in them coming to light. | |
