If we keep 13:10 - May 26 with 1054 viewsMK1

Palmer, Slicker, Johnson, Woolfy, Burgess, Greaves, Townsend, Morsy, Taylor, Broadhead, Burns, Chaplin, Hutchinson, Szmodics, Ogbene, & Hirst then I am happy.
If J. Clarke, Delap, Philogene, O'Shea and Davis are moving on, then we will have a fair few quid to spend in midfield and in the forward positions. Those 5 would bring in a minimum £100M.
I see 1 new keeper, 3 defenders, 3 midfielders and 2 forwards coming in.
I think we are in a pretty strong position going into the new season. We should be challenging for top 6, if not top 2.

Poll: New hobby suggestions for NeedhamChris.

Love Morsy to bits, he’s been integral to our success since our new owners came in, but we’ve got to be realistic, time catches up with all players eventually & I don’t think his legs are promotion chasing pace any longer.

Kudos to him for apparently recognising that too - he’s already hinted at a move hasn’t he?

Will be the end of an era when he goes, salt water will probably be shed here.

Poll: Town's most cultured left foot ever?

I think Morsy success next season will be very dependant on his midfield partner and whether he has someone to share the gritty side of the game with, he will have a little more time and space in the EFL so won’t get so easily caught out.

As far as captain material I’d say it is integral we keep O’Shea. I watch him most games and he is a leader on the pitch, always giving guidance / instruction to those around him. Plus he is the best central defender we have at the club, the amount of blocks, headers and tackles he gets in every game is immense.

I've missed that if he's indicated he's off this summer, would be amazed to see him go and not in a good sense. From what I've seen (majority of games but not all 38) he has the legs for another promotion, including as a regular starter.

I hope you're right! (and you've definitely seen more of him live than me).

He's 34 in September. That's probably not that realistic to expect from him.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

I've been wrong before lol, but I believe I've watched opposition players speeding up more than him slowing down. Analogy I'd plump for would be of a national cross-country champion earning his spot to compete against Kenya's finest for a season. He hasn't looked as impressive in that company but will soon be lined up against main rival Darren from Bristol again.

That's four or five years on Vardy, maybe a year on Trippier, couple of years on Idrissa Gueye at the heart of Everton's midfield. He looks after himself well and sports science has come on leaps and bounds, so I don't think it's obvious he's at the cliff edge yet.

All players a bit more naturally athletic than Morsy.

I'm not saying you're wrong, just saying we can't depend on him to start every Saturday, Tuesday. Same with Hirst for his notorious injuries.

Don't disagree that it's a key area we must improve, and agree that I don't expect Morsy to start 46 games. I do have my suspicions that some will be caught off guard by how regularly he does play though, and I believe that will only serve to reinforce how intense the pace of the PL is.

Yes keeping Hirst fit would be a huge boost next season.

He looks good to me too but we will need 2 more to support him and possibly Taylor though I’m not convinced in a midfield 2

The only Muff in Town.

We would be foolish to lose all 5 of J. Clarke, Delap, Philogene, O'Shea and Davis.
