Simple pleasures on 14:54 - Jun 10 with 434 views | The_Flashing_Smile | Walking through woodland. Feeding seeds to birds. Sunlight. A pint in a pub where no-one knows you and the footy is on the telly, so you know you have at least 2 hours of 'me time'. Having an idea and then creating it, so it goes from a thought to an actual thing in the world. The smell of baking bread. A good curry, where you have poppadoms and all the dips. Desert Island Discs while on a long drive.

Desert Island Discs? That akin to waiting in the Dentists and hearing the sound of the drill on another poor, suffering victim. Now a good curry, fresh bread and sunshine are great shouts though. An opposite but similar principle to woodlands, nature: skiing and standing high in the mountains completely alone and listening to the silence. Winter sun, vibrant colours, air so fresh you can taste it. The only sound is hearing the odd trees crack with the cold. Completely your world.

I find Desert Island Discs very relaxing... and illuminating. If you haven't heard the Ian Wright one, for example, you're missing out. Very powerful/emotional. But each to their own.

I confess i’m not sure I’ve ever listened to one fully through tbh, so I shouldn’t really abuse it even if I do know what it is.
