I imagine he's probably enjoyed the role we ask him to play. It's a bit of a hybrid as he will tuck in more than a RB when Davis has bombed on. But it gives him a bit of licence to get forward as well. | |

I think he is less effective against weaker sides at championship level, where our full backs were encouraged to get up the pitch. But you never know what our manager has in mind this time. Perhaps he will go with ultra defensive side (much like Leeds and Burnley did last year). So yes I can see him playing centre half. Or it would not surprise me if we play 5 in the middle and not have 2 false 10s like we have done. I just get the feeling that our gaffer might try something different to what got us promoted last time.
From the gaffers reactions to opponents last year I think he was most impressed with Newcastle at Portman Road, the match at St. James' was much tighter and minus the red we might have got something. I got the feeling the he envied there team.. They were all similar players to ours, but they were a foot taller, 2 stone more and quicker. Team of animals. [Post edited 16 Jun 20:12]

I think the problem was he was very very ring rusty when McKenna first played him at CB . It is his natural position, but he'd been out of the game for all but a year, and I think getting played CB for his time at Man Utd. |  |
