A much misunderstood band. Lots of middle class disdain and prejudice. At their best, one of the absolute greats.

Agree with the sentiment of your second paragraph. I think they are one of the most overrated bands ever, but music is very subjective, and most people would hate most of the stuff I like! |
They're OK. I liked the rawness of their first album Definitely Maybe but I dont think anything they did afterwards bettered that. They would not have existed without bands like Stone Roses and The Smiths before them and I think they rode the coat tails of that scene somewhat. |  |
