got to feel sorry for the bowlers. Using the Aussie Kookaburra ball in English conditions is daft. In 9 Championship matches the lowest first innings score is 367.

That's very short sighted, the benefit that will be felt by the England players ahead of the winter in invaluable.

It's not as if they are currently involved in an international test series and not playing at county level or anything is it?

Using the Kookaburra would only make sense if the England players were available to use it. Besides whatever benefits of using it will be long forgotten by the time England tour Oz. I doubt the Aussies use the Duke ball during their state games. As it is probably 7 out of 9 Championship games will be dull draws. Surrey will no doubt win being the Man City of English cricket.

Would it not make more sense to use the Kookaburra during April, May, & September, when movement off the pitch is more exaggerated? Games in June, July, August, use the Duke.
