Convicted for a rape and murder from 1967.

Presumably he gets life (as it's manatory) so will spend the rest of his days in a prison.

Fair dos to the coppers for persevering and finally convicting him. Not sure I'd have been so polite knocking on his door knowing what he was suspected of.

I have the utmost respect for cold case coppers who don't give up on giving families justice. It doesn't matter how long ago these horrible crimes were committed, the trauma it causes the families is severe, and any small comfort they get from knowing that the perpetrators are caught is worth their hard work.

Heard the granddaughter(who was 17 at the time) being interviewed on the radio - very emotional and grateful to finally see some justice.
