I have an irrational dislike of Italians. 21:46 - Jul 22 with 1939 viewsBanksterDebtSlave

Maybe it's just because they're so fekkin noisy.

"They break our legs and tell us to be grateful when they offer us crutches."
Poll: Do you wipe after having a piss?

They are a very expressive nation. Why say one word when ten will do. I think like many other nations they may see us as not being as family orientated as they are. Where a whole family lives together. I'm not sure it still happens, but if you went out with an Italian girl a brother may come along as a chaperone.
As with someone like Franky Dettori they do seem to be very high or very low and not much of the in between.

Any other untrue cliches you wish to roll out?

Interesting that this can be said out loud.

Replace Italians with another country and you’d be labelling them a right wing nut.

Yes. As someone married to an Italian I find a lot of what's above at best offensive and in places, and at worst, racist. Tiresome stereotypes.

As someone with Italian family members I'd say that these stereotypes have a basis in reality much like the ones applied to the English!!
You realise it's possible to be a little too precious.

I travel to italy a lot for work. To the north and south, east and west, they are all entirely different places and the cliche stereotypes simply don't hold true in any case. Bolzano is entirely different to Sicily, Torino has little in common with Puglia.

To see people here say basically "all italians except the ones I know are awful" is racist - if I said "all black people except my neighbours are awful" it would be racist. If i wrote "all muslims except the nice man who helps my nan are awful" it would be islamaphobic. if i thought "those gays are prettty awful, but not that man in the cafe as he's not like all the others" that would be homophobic.

I think it's kind of useful to try not to be these things, and i don't find that precious really, sorry.

The vast majority of posts in this thread are positive towards Italians, even the original poster says his dislike is irrational.

In general lovely people, great food, good looking women but they do have a firey temper.
