Does anyone have any suggestions for pre-concert at the Albert Hall eats/drinks please?
We're likely to be travelling in on the Central Line from the East so don't mind getting off the tube and back on again.

Same here, closer to Haverhill init.
You could actually treat yerself to a take away pukka pie ( I'd go for the classic steak an kidney but the world's yer oyster when it comes to pies) an chips from Bennys in Haverhill High Street an quickly drive back to Kedington to eat it.
The thing is once you've been to the bright lights of Haverhill why would you return to Kedington? It's hardly Hundon or Sturmer is it? |  | | |

Hi Mate - loads round there, my former manor.
Naturally budget and cuisine type are the key questions.
But there are plenty of great pubs that do food about 10/15 mins walk further west, close to high street Ken.
In no particular order, I could suggest:
- The Abingdon - more of restaurant now but great food, bring your wallet though!
- Scarsdale Tavern, best pub in London IMO, Fullers owned too so won't break the bank.
- The Holland - good all rounder but leans more gastro pub.
- Builders arms, favourite of the after work crowd, quite "yuppie" but good atmosphere and probably closest to Albert Hall.
Beware the £8 pint though!

Probably best bang for your buck is Ivy Brasserie on High St Ken.

Nice people, interesting decor, easy location, food (relatively) inexpensive for that part of town.
They also have things like pre-theatre set menus too which might work for you depending on timings. | | | |

There is/was a very good greasy spoon cafe at Stradishall if bacon, egg, beans and a fried slice is what you are after, but I haven't been for many years so I can't say it it is still as good. |  | | |

There are loads, lots of very good pubs down tiny streets or in mews around there, just walk off the main road and obvious pubs as they do all get busy but ive always founded a spot.
Queens arms, Gloucester arms, Anglesea Arms, Builders arms... tell me if you're spotting a theme ;)
The Churchill arms is worth a look, especially at Christmas, but is tourist pricing. | | | |
