Is Cajuste a crock? 16:21 - Aug 2 with 800 viewsAxeldalai_lama

I see a lot of people moaning about him not being able to play games and having a terrible record, just looked and he's 6th highest for premier league starts for us last season. Only missed 8 games. Lots of subbing on and off, but that's part of the game now.

I'm more than likely missing a bigger part of the picture, but surely he is relatively solid, not quite a Matt Holland, but this reputation of being a crock seems more than a little off at first glance.

How many games did he finish? That is the concern.

It may be a concern, I genuinely don't know. Isn't the modern game now all about going hard for an hour, starters and finishers, strength in depth coming off the bench?

How many games did Delap finish? I don't know btw, but is that a concern?

IIRC he was managing some knee issue basically all season.

Whatever it is our medical team will be well aware of it

Just thankful we were able to get him in early this year to ensure he has a good pre-season.

He has a degenerative knee condition. which is why you heard Mckenna say we are just managing something with jens on many occasions last season. if he was fully fit he would be out of our reach. hopefully we get another cm and he is more of a bit part player

How many games has any partner of Morsy ever finished?

Given the way McKenna uses his subs you could say the exact same about Delap/Hirst/Chaplin/Burns/Broadhead/Hutchinson et al.

How many games you finish at this club is totally irrelevant.

didn't finish many at the start, got better towards the end.

he played the full 90 in 3 of the last 7. for comparison, morsy played the full 90 in 3 of his last 7

the knee is a concern, but we're going in with our eyes open as our medical team have been working with him for nearly a year

Okay, thanks didn't fully realise about the knee injury so that's a fair point. I wonder if fans need to recalibrate slightly, in terms of wanting absolutely solid 50 games a season players Vs a more fragile better player who can be managed with 5 subs and starters and finishers etc.

Or maybe I'm just being too nice to Cajuste, with tinted specs, and we should look for bulletproof players.

Quality player at Premiership level. He will be wonderful signing at Championship level.

Its a gamble. also should we go up we are on the hook for a contract.

Fingeres crossed

everything's a gamble, but he's cheaper than most. if we go up, we can afford him (fingers crossed on this too!)
