I’d still like another striker 13:08 - Aug 5 with 2564 views | Joey_Joe_Joe_Junior | While I think Akpom is going to be very useful this season, he’s had a bit of a quieter few years and Lille decided against signing him after his loan spell last year. Think his experience at this level will add good depth and a decent option, of course. It’s gone quiet on Iván Azón, that’s a player I’d love to still be in for as a more like for like season project behind Hirst if we can get him up to speed over the next few months. Especially as Akpom can play multiple attacking positions. I’d not going to get too carried away with pre season from the bench against second half reserve teams and would consider a fee for Ali, or sending him out on loan.

I think it’s safe to say…. on 14:08 - Aug 5 by Kropotkin123 | I think it is delusional to think AAH won't be our third choice striker. Also, players need scope to develop. Players in the past didn't have great first seasons and went on to better things than the club achieved in the same time - Eg, Taricco and Petta. |
The window doesn't close until the end of the month so I think there's every chance we get a PL striker in on loan near the end of the month & then look to loan out Hamadi.

The biggest risk is Hirst getting injured, especially given his record so we need a number 9 who can play his role at a similar level. Presumably Akpom is seen as that guy.

Nor will Hirst sadly…. We need someone who is nearer his quality, than nearer AAH’s.
I’d still like another striker on 15:21 - Aug 5 with 162 views | baxterbasics | I'm fine with AAH staying on as third choice, he's done enough recently to show he's hungry for it. Question is would AAH be happy as third choice? May be better for him do drop down on a loan somewhere again.

Al-Hamadi is only 23 so hanging around as 3rd or fourth striker is unlikely to do much for his career development, but I suspect we'll keep him until we have at least 2 other strikers. If we get a 3rd one in, he may be sold or allowed to go out on loan. Or we may keep him until January & see how things pan out with injuries etc.
