…. one of the most frustrating transfer windows I’ve ever known. Yes and no, I can deal with. Endless maybe’s? Not so much.

There's probably been loads more like this but we've been totally unaware of them.

It's now a 24 hour a day media and Internet circus that's rammed down your throat.

And we've been shielded from the full force of the circus for years by virtue of how bad and poor we've been lol.

Was catching up with a Super Blues member yesterday, Saints home ticket in digital hand, and the name Chuba Akpom brought vague recognition that he was a footballer once. Doesn't subscribe to Sky, gets his news from the ITFC website. We do this to ourselves! 😅

It's been pretty painful hasn't it. It feels like there's still a lot of work to do before the deadline in three weeks.

We really need to get Cajuste and Akpom over the line today, if possible. Then need to resolve what we're going to do with the likes of Hutchinson and Broadhead as well as identifying/pursuing replacements for them.

It's really anyone's guess as to how the squad could look in a month's time.

Social media exacerbated it.

So you can have a player in South America who Town might have watched, nothing else. But then some unknown bod posts a story of Town talking to that players club about a bid, even though there isn't any evidence. Others on social media take the story and expand it, and suddenly that 'have watched' is turned into 'player rejects the offer' without any evidence. Unfortunately too many will believe the offer story, followed by fans moaning Town have missed out on another player.

I actually find it sad that even in 2025 people are brainwashed by propaganda/false stories, even in the world of football. I thought it was only oldies in the 40,50,60s who fell for that.
We called it 'Chinese whispers' in the 50s.

Mrs Bloom always tells me its because men love gossip more than women. She is adamant men gossiping about transfer is like 2 old women from the 60s gossiping over a fence, a long the lines of "ooh have you heard about her from No.24'

For what it's worth, it doesn't appear to be just us. Plenty of clubs aren't getting their main targets. For whatever reason it appears to be a difficult window.

I don't think it's that bad?

- Bought in a unit of a centre back.
- Younger Morsy replacement.
- Young brings bags of experience.
- Third choice goalie to allow Muric and Slicker to go.
- Cajuste looks 90% done and really should be playing at a higher level.
- Akpom, if done is an excellent player at this level.

That's 6 signings before the first game of the season. There's still 4 weeks left. We're not bringing in sh1te like Harrop and Bennetts any more. Some signings will be a little more complicated due to more people scouting out the calibre of player we're trying to recruit.

Exactly we are used to shopping in the bargain basement, now we actually have to compete with other clubs for players that are in demand. It’s frustrating, but wouldn’t want to go back to the Evan’s era…

Problem is we are awash with " information" that is constantly bombarding us 24/7.... in the end the brain just accepts what's been pushed down its throat ....there's so much " noise", it becomes overwhelming and confusing. White noise if you will. I'm not just talking football matters either. I actually think the Internet is now the scurge to mankind and human sanity. I hate it, but you are forced to live it and yiu can't function in daily life these days without access to it. You can see why dine people just drop out of modern day living. Its just so bloody stressful all the time.
