Steve McClaren Manager of Jamaica National Team 08:53 - Aug 6 with 865 viewstetchris

Just read that he is trying to persuade mason greenwood to play for Jamaica and didn’t even realise they have made him their manager.

He will probably now start talking with a Jamaican accent

Well if Ali Al-Hamadi talks Scouse I think it can be possible to see Steve Bruce sign off the interview with 'Jah Rasta Far I', after blaming the defeat on Babylon.

Poll: What was in Wes Burns' imaginary cup of tea ?

A Steve Bruce who moved to Jamaica as a baby and grew up there probably would!

Not necessarily, the White Jamaican's background can be a complex thing. I only met one when I went there and, but for the accent, I would have taken him to be Californian by his appearance. [edit: so, yes, a Jamaican accent but not peppered with Rastafarian expressions.]

But I now have a vision of a teenage Steve Bruce being spotted playing on the dusty parks of Kingston and brought over to the North East of England to undergo a Jan Molby like transformation into a Geordie accent into which the occasional 'bredren' instead of 'the lads' crept. Although I suppose saying 'mon' wouldn't make any difference...

(SM leans forward on desk at Press Conference)

SM: "I don't like football- I LOVE IT!"

(Flashes pearly whites and sits back in chair like he's nailed it)
