Talking of cycling/Sepsis. 04:30 - Aug 7 with 669 views | Benters | I had to stop in May as I was diagnosed with Sepsis,so my recovery has been walking and gardening.Which I have throughly enjoyed. But seeing my bike sitting there the tyres going down just that little bit every day was a bit sad,so yesterday I decided to pump the tyres up and give it a go.. I went up the road wobbling about, but once I got into the swing of it it was ok.I thought I’d just take it easy but once you have your speed it’s hard to slow down! It was lovely getting out on the saddle again. Peace and Love.

Hell, the cycling and gardening probably helped you survive the sepsis. Well done, stay well and know your signs people. https://sepsistrust.org/about-sepsis/

I got really ill and was heading for organ failure apparently until blood test in hospital picked it up. But now my nerves are shattered and its along road back. Similar story but my bike is hooked upto Zwift. Will i make the Southampton game.... Good luck in your recovery. [Post edited 7 Aug 7:37]

Twenty years or so ago, I had a spider bite (non-venomous) to the back of the knee which I ignored for a bit until my knee swelled up and I ended up admitted on an antibiotic drip for a couple of days. I'm thought they called it septicaemia at the time, which I believe is called sepsis these days, but I've never been quite sure if I remembered it correctly. Had a similar thing a few years later, but caught it earlier so just had oral! Does that make sense, doc?
